Discover an educational alternative that awakens the love for knowledge and life in harmony.
Who We Are
The San Pedro El Alto Educational Association is a non-profit organization born from the educational needs of the community families. We propose a different educational system that breaks with the conventional system in Guatemala, seeking to educate children capable of facing the challenges of the contemporary world, using art, music, nature, and community life as pillars of learning.
Discover Waldorf Pedagogy: A Holistic Educational Approach
Waldorf pedagogy is a holistic educational philosophy that seeks to nurture the complete development of the human being. By integrating the academic, artistic, and practical, it shapes creative, autonomous individuals with a profound sense of purpose.
Respectful Development
Adapted to each child's developmental stages, it promotes natural and organic growth, free from premature or standardized pressures.
Integral Education
Cultivates intellect, emotions, and will (head, heart, and hands), fostering balanced and meaningful learning.
Fostering Creativity
Prioritizes arts, music, and imaginative play as essential tools for discovery and individual expression.
Experiential Learning
Unlike traditional education, it focuses on practical experience and direct connection with the environment, moving beyond memorization.
Our Pedagogical Approach: Multi-Grade Model and Individualized Attention
We operate with two small groups, each with a maximum of 8-10 children:
  • Group 1: Children aged 3-6 years.
  • Group 2: Children aged 7-10 years (will go up to 6th grade)
The multi-grade model fosters a rich dynamic where older children reinforce their learning by guiding and mentoring younger ones, explaining concepts and solving problems together.
Our methodology is designed so that each child advances at their own pace, respecting their individual abilities and level of maturity.
Familiar and Collaborative Environment
Our small groups facilitate interaction and learning across ages, creating a supportive environment where every child feels part of a community.
Personalized Development and Official Recognition
We adapt the learning to each student’s needs, fostering autonomy. We ensure that your child’s academic progress is officially recognized.
Preparing Children for the Real World
In our school, education transcends academics. We focus on teaching children not only how to learn, but also how to apply knowledge and develop the autonomy necessary for life.
Practical Skills
From changing a tire to performing basic home repairs and cooking, our students acquire manual skills.
Financial Literacy
We teach children to understand the value of money, saving, and how to make responsible decisions when using it.
Social Awareness
We foster empathy, teamwork, and a sense of community. They learn to collaborate and care for others.
